Jitendra Wagh – A Journey from Adversity to the Indian Divyang Cricket Team Jitendra Wagh was born in Dhule, Maharashtra, but due to difficult family financial circumstances, his family moved to Madhya Pradesh, where he completed his education. From an early age, Jitendra had a deep passion for cricket. However, being physically disabled and facing limited opportunities, he could not initially pursue the sport at a larger competitive level. Everything changed when Jitendra discovered that there was a dedicated Indian Divyang Cricket Team. Determined to prove himself, he began participating in national-level tournaments and consistently showcased his talent, commitment, and fighting spirit. His performances eventually impressed his state coordinator, who recognized his potential and helped him earn the opportunity to represent India at the international level. Jitendra made his international debut in Agra against Nepal. Although his initial performance did not quite meet his own expectations, the opportunity itself was a deeply proud and emotional milestone for him. For Jitendra, wearing the blue jersey of the Indian Divyang Cricket Team was more than just a sporting achievement—it was a childhood dream and a symbol of determination, dignity, and perseverance. He considers being a part of the Indian team itself a great honour. With his ambitions firmly set on the future, Jitendra is working hard to sharpen his skills and improve his performance at the academy level. His goal is clear: to deliver stronger performances, establish himself as a key player, and make a lasting contribution to Indian Divyang cricket on the international stage. His journey is a powerful example of how determination can turn limited opportunities into extraordinary possibilities.
